Restylane-L is a sterile gel composed of stabilized hyaluronic acid and includes Lidocaine, a numbing agent to minimize discomfort. It is designed to correct facial lines, wrinkles, and folds, as well as enhance the lips for fuller, more natural-looking contours. Restylane-L has been safely used in the United States and over 60 countries worldwide.
Hyaluronic acid is a key structural component of human skin and tissue. By restoring volume and shaping facial contours, Restylane-L helps reduce the visible signs of aging while enhancing the natural beauty of your features.
How Restylane-L Works
Restylane-L works by adding volume to the treated area, filling wrinkles, and improving contours. The inclusion of Lidocaine ensures patient comfort during treatment. The product is injected with precision to provide smooth, natural results while minimizing downtime.
What Areas Can Be Treated
- Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
- Marionette lines (corners of the mouth)
- Lip enhancement and contouring
- Facial lines, wrinkles, and folds
Expected Side Effects
After treatment, some mild injection-related reactions may occur:
- Swelling
- Redness
- Pain or tenderness
- Bruising
- Itching or discoloration
Most reactions resolve within 2–3 days when treating facial lines and within a week for lip injections. Rarely, hypersensitive reactions occur (approximately 1 in 5,000 patients) and typically resolve in about 2 weeks.
Duration of Results
Restylane-L results generally last 6–9 months, depending on the treatment area, skin type, and individual metabolism. Some patients may experience slightly shorter or longer durations. Touch-up and follow-up treatments help maintain the desired results.
Safety Precautions
- Avoid exposure to heat, such as sunbathing or tanning booths, immediately after treatment.
- There is a small risk of infection, redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection site.
- Hypersensitivity reactions are very rare but usually self-resolve.
Results vary by individual, and patients should have realistic expectations. Restylane-L is not recommended if you have unattainable goals.
